Wisden slams ICC for letting India lead world cricket to 'colonial-style divide-and-rule'

The current edition of the Wisden Cricketers' Almanack has slammed the ICC for letting an extensive Indian influence lead international cricket to a future of 'colonial-style divide and rule'.

In February, changes to the governance of the International Cricket Council (ICC), handed the majority of the powers and revenue to the sport's 'big three' nations - India, Australia and England.

According to Sport24, the English editor of cricket's 'bible', Lawrence Booth, mentioned in the 151st edition of British-based Wisden that international cricket will be 'holding its breath' as India prepare to take its 'central leadership responsibility'.

Stating that international cricket is set for 'colonial-style divide and rule', Booth further said that the 'appallingly-administered' cricket is vulnerable to economic exploitation by India, which is powerful enough to exploit, and Australia and England, who are prepared to lend their plans credibility.
