A woman in the national capital passed away on Friday after contracting Swine Flu, doctors confirmed.
According to media reports, the victim, a resident of Ghaziabad, was 51 years old and was admitted to the hospital earlier this week. Her condition was very critical as her lungs were damaged and she was on ventilator.
"Swine flu is a respiratory infection. It is a commutable disease. The H1N1 virus is a life threatening disease. Patients having problems in breathing are admitted to hospital. This virus spreads very quickly through coughing. The person suffering from Swine Flu should stay at home and isolate himself. There is a vaccine available for this," said Dr. Ravi Malik.
Earlier this year, three people in Hyderabad died due to the virus. Similar cases have also been reported in Pune and Indore.
