Women don't wear three out of the four pairs of shoes that they have, a new poll has concluded.
Thousands of the shoes that women have lay at the back of a wardrobe, or are discarded as they were uncomfortable, didn't match an outfit or were unwanted gifts, the Daily Express reported.
41 percent women said that they owned a pair of expensive shoes that they never wore - in case they got damaged.
In the study conducted by VoucherCodesPro.co.uk of more than 2,000 women, 86 percent confessed to owning at least one pair that they don't wear.
The most common excuse that 60 percent of women gave for not wearing their new shoes was that they turn out to be too high or too tight.
Many said that it was difficult to match them with an outfit and 20 percent said that they didn't like the footwear when they got them home.
