Former world number one Tiger Woods has hit a new low in his career as he recorded the worst round as a professional golfer with an 11-over-par 82 in the second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
The American was playing in his first PGA Tour event of the season and after struggling on day one in Arizona, carding a 73, he was left in the 132nd place in a field of 132 and certain to miss the cut.
Woods said that he has got to keep this in perspective, adding that sometimes that's hard to do, the BBC reported.
The 14-time Major champion recorded the worst round of his career making six bogeys, two double bogeys, a triple bogey and two birdies in his round at TPC Scottsdale.
It was Woods' worst since he shot an 81 at Muirfield in the 2002 Open, a round that was completed in a storm that made good scoring impossible.
Post undergoing back surgery in March, Woods missed much of last season, including the Ryder Cup. He said that had not played a part in his poor round, adding that they all have days like this.
Unfortunately, Woods claimed that his was in a public forum and a public setting but added that they all have days like this and take the good with the bad.
