Former world number one Tiger Woods has admitted that he is unsure if he would be fit enough to play in the Ryder Cup after suffering more back pain while missing the cut at the US PGA.

Woods had finished six-over par at Valhalla and would now need a wildcard to play at Gleneagles next month.

But Woods, who pulled out of the WGC-Invitational last Sunday with a pinched nerve in his back, said that he suffered a recurrence of the problem during his second 74 of the tournament at Valhalla, The Mirror reported.

And U.S. captain Tom Watson would reportedly be reluctant to select a player who is lacking fitness and form.

Woods, after finishing in tied 117th place, said that it was sore, he just had to play through it. He added that he does not know when he would play again. But, he said that he has no regrets playing.

Woods also said that it was telling him on the range it probably wasn't a good idea. But he said that he is not exactly a non-stubborn person.
