The World Bank has warned that the Ebola outbreak in West Africa can have adverse effects on the economies of Guinea, Liberia and Seirra Leone.

The organization said that the virus could grow eight-fold in the affected states which would lead to a disastrous economic impact, reported the BBC.

However, the impact can be controlled if the global response is stronger, says the World Bank.

The death toll of Ebola outbreak has reached 2,461 in West Africa.

United States President Barack Obama has said that the outbreak is a threat to global security and announced a large U.S. role in battling the epidemic.

Obama has also ordered 3,000 troops to the area in order to build new healthcare facilities.
