Marks and Spencer has launched world's smallest apple, which is the size of a golf-ball.

The apple will be in high street stores on Monday after it was found by grower David Cranwell in one of his orchards in New Zealand, the Mirror reported.

The 42mm diameter Tiddly Pomme has been snapped up exclusively by Marks and Spencer, which hopes that it will encourage kids to eat more fruit.

A pack of six will cost just 1.49 pounds, M and S buyer Shazad Rehman said that people shouldn't be fooled by its appearance, as what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in flavour.

If the fruit becomes a hit then M and S will plant its own Tiddly Pommes in the UK for a year-round supply.
