The Lankans have been successful in restricting India's score at 130 after its bowlers limited the Indian batsmen from scoring a big total.
Thanks to a brilliant knock of 77 being played by star batsman Virat Kohli that helped India put up a respectable total on board. Kohli stayed till the end of the Indian innings before getting run out.
Kohli hit five boundaries and four sixes in his blistering attack against the Lankans as he steadied the ship after India lost early wicket in the form of Ajinkya Rahane who just scored three runs when he was sent back to the pavilion.
It was Kohli along with Rohit Sharma who then built up a 60 runs partnership that was crucial in putting India stand up, after its disastrous start. But when everything was looking good Rohit Sharma was dismissed when he was on 29 runs after contributing three boundaries to the Indian total.
It was all left on Kohli to score as much runs as possible as Yuvraj Singh too fell on scoring just 11 runs. Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni accompanied Virat Kohli towards the fag end of the Indian innings came to a close.
Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss in the finals of the World T20 being played against India at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur which was marred by wet outfield which forced the toss to be delayed.
The Lankan side have made a change in the form of Thisara Perera who comes in for Seekkuge Prasanna, while the Indians have kept an unchanged side in this crucial game.
