A report said that Yahoo has decided to release new documents detailing its legal fight with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC).

The documents revealed that the court had once threatened the company to pay $250,000 every day if it refused to comply with the surveillance, reported The Verge.

Yahoo has been involved in a suit before the FISC for years challenging the court's authority to allow "unconstitutional and overboard surveillance," Yahoo's general counsel, Ron Bell, said in a post on Monday.

The full documents have not been uploaded yet but about 1500 pages have been released till now as part of the declassification effort. However, a large portion of the details still remain secret, even from Yahoo's legal team.

The report quoted Bell as saying that Yahoo will continue to contest requests and laws that they consider unlawful, unclear, or overbroad.
