Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal on Wednesday said the nation would follow the rule of law in the case of the death warrant handed out to Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon by Mumbai's TADA (Terrorism and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act) court, and added that pending cases against terrorists should be taken up for hearing on priority.

"This is a legal process. The judiciary has pronounced its verdict, it should be followed. He can appeal. Whatever will be the rule of law, the nation will follow that," Agarwal told ANI here.

"I would say that the cases which are pending against the terrorists should be taken up for hearing on priority," he added.

An anti-terror court in Mumbai has issued a warrant to carry out the death sentence against 53-year-old Memon, accordingly which he will be hanged at 7 am on July 30 in Nagpur Central Jail.

The 19993 blasts convict Yakub Memon is likely to be hanged if his petition for mercy is rejected by the Supreme Court.

This will be the first execution related to the 1993 serial blasts, in which over 250 people were killed.
