Yankees GM Brian Cashman has said that doping accused player Alex Rodriguez, who is preparing to file a grievance against the team, had lied to him.
According to the New York Post, the general manager repeatedly accused his beleaguered third baseman of serial dishonesty a day after A-Rod's newest attorney Joseph Tacopina accused the Yankees of not informing Rodriguez last October of the severity of his left hip injury.
Cashman said that Rodriguez had told him that he trusted the team's medical judgment and had no problem with it.
The player is currently being investigated for charges of doping offences and his future with the Yankees is insecure.
