Amid the growing internal battle within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), senior party leader Yogendra Yadav on Tuesday said he was hopeful that everything would be sorted out in the national executive meeting tomorrow.

"The party which has set new standards in Indian politics is bound to have extra expectations. It is common to have difference of opinion in politics but it shouldn't translate to difference in hearts. I am hopeful that we'll be able to sort out everything in national executive meeting tomorrow," said Yadav.

Earlier in the day, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated that he was deeply hurt and pained by what was going on in AAP, and added it was a betrayal of the trust that the people of Delhi had reposed in the party.

"I refuse to be drawn in this ugly battle. Will concentrate only on Delhi's governance. I won't let the people's trust break at all," he added.

The AAP has called a national executive meeting tomorrow to decide on issues including the latest controversy over differences in the party. The meeting is also expected to decide the future of Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh had earlier said that attempts were being made to remove Kejriwal as AAP national convener.

The rift within the AAP came out in the open with Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan voicing dissent against the manner in which the party is being run by Kejriwal. The two leaders also reportedly offered to opt out of the Political Affairs Committee of the party.
