If India had her Oscars - would IIFA be it? According to singer Nitin Mukesh, this Bollywood extravaganza has become such a big affair that it's time to turn the things other way round.
The 'Zindagi Ki Na Toote Ladi' hit-maker, who is currently in Madrid for IIFA accompanied by his son Neil Nitin Mukesh, spoke about the prestigious Bollywood ceremony at the green carpet.
He said, "You can no more call IIFA the Indian Oscars, you should start calling the Oscars the American IIFAs. There's no award in the world that can match up with IIFA. Imagine getting thousands of people from all over the world to come in a new country every year and have a flawless adventure."
The father-son duo also sang the 'Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan' song.
The 17th edition of the IIFA awards gala is celebrating 60 years of India's diplomatic relations with Spain here with close to 150 film celebrities and over 20,000 fans in attendance.
The fete will also see ravishing performances by Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Sooraj Pancholi, Daidy Shah and others.
Bollywood magnum opus 'Bajirao Mastani' is expected to win big at the prestigious award ceremony.
