The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi has reportedly taken into account the rules relating to Central Contracts of Players in which Pakistan's veteran batsman Younis Khan has been placed in Category 'B'.
The new clause that reportedly has to be inserted into PCB's rules states that any player who has played over 300 matches in all three formats of the game and captained in all three formats would be placed in Category 'A'.
According to The Dawn, after the rules are amended Khan would be placed in Category 'A'.
Sethi said that the committee comprising Zakir Khan, Moin Khan and Mohammad Akram did a good job in framing the rules but it did not sufficiently address all issues, especially fitness and past performance, whereby a class player like Khan was a fitting candidate for Category 'A'.
Khan has played in 89 Tests, 253 ODIs and 25 T20 Internationals captaining in 09, 21 and 08 matches respectively in the three formats and has also captained Pakistan's triumphant ICC T20 World Cup squad in 2009, the report added.
