The National Freedom Party Youth Movement (NFPYM) has said that the South African court's decision to clear Shrien Dewani of murdering his wife Anni is worrisome for female victims of violence.
The movement's secretary general Maria Busi Tshabalala said that it seemed like criminals had more powers as compared to civilians, reported News24.
Tshabalala said that women are not safe any longer because people who commit crimes against them are "let off the hook like it's a fashion statement".
She said that citizens no longer are allowed to take the law into their hands and that the strategic judicial position were failing female victims.
If any court allowed the public to influence the application of the law, it would lead to anarchy, added Tshabalala.
