YouTube is reportedly offering bonuses to top creators for exclusive videos in an attempt to keep up with their rivals companies, including Facebook.
According to Mashable, a report by Wall Street Journal suggests that YouTube is offering bonuses in exchange for an exclusive window on the service before uploading to other platforms, which they are otherwise free to do.
The report said that the company has also been offering its video creators funding for additional programming.
A YouTube spokesperson said that the company has invested in YouTube creators for years, and have been increasing that support through a broad range of activities including marketing and content funding.
The spokesperson added that YouTube would continue to recognize and value the creativity of its top talent.
