Out-of-favour batsman Yuvraj Singh has made a comeback to Indian team as he has been included in the 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20 series against Australia.

However, the stylish left-hander was not selected for the five-match ODI series, starting from January 12.

Off spinner Harbhajan Singh and left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra were the other two veterans that have been named for the T20 series. Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami have also returned to the ODI and the T20I squad.

Chief selector Sandeep Patil said that Yuvraj has been a special player and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was happy to have him back.

"We will need experienced players in the T20 WC. Australia tour is a perfect chance to give them a shot. Ashish Nehra is a consistent performer in T20 format, and selectors feel he will be useful. And this is the time to try him out," Patil told the press conference.

Yuvraj last played a T20I for India in the 2014, the ICC WT20 Final in Bangladesh, a match that India lost by six wickets.
