A Pakistani High Court has reportedly granted interim pre-arrest bail worth one million Pakistani rupees to a cousin of former president Asif Ali Zardari in an ambulance misuse case.

A division bench of the Sindh High Court, comprising Justice Abdul Rasool Memon and Justice Syed Saeeduddin Nasir, asked the special prosecutor of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Deputy Attorney General (DAG) to present evidence against the petitioner, Ali Hassan Zardari, in the next hearing, reported the Dawn.

The bench also directed the applicant to cooperate with the NAB authorities in the investigation as and when summoned.

The bail will be valid till July 14.

While listing the NAB director general, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Anti-Corruption Establishment, Sindh IG, Shaheed Benazirabad SSP, Rangers director-general and others as respondents, Zardari's constitutional petition claimed that he was being falsely implicated in the case by these people. He also alleged that he had nothing to do with the matter and was being harassed by the federal government on political grounds as he was the cousin of a former president.

At least six ambulances were allegedly seized from Zardari's home during an earlier raid.
