Former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has left Karachi for Lahore, where he will have a luncheon meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the latter's Raiwind residence.
According to the Dawn, both leaders are expected to discuss the ongoing political stalemate caused by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in Islamabad.
It maybe recalled that Sharif had sought a meeting with Zardari.
Zardari is expected to be accompanied by senior PPP leaders Raza Rabbani, Aitzaz Ahsan and Khurshid Shah, who is also the opposition leader in the National Assembly.
Sharif will be accompanied by Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister Saad Rafique and Safron Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch in the meeting.
According to reports, Zardari also has plans to meet Jamaat-i-Islami emir Sirajul Haq while in Lahore.
