Zimbabwe's cricketers have reportedly decided to call off their strike after being promised money by next week.

Coach Andy Waller said that the players would be returning to training after striking for two months over unpaid wages and bonuses and refusing to play domestic games.

According to Sport24, the Zimbabwe Cricket leadership met senior players for negotiations as the board's financial problems also resulted in recent tours by Sri Lanka and Afghanistan being cancelled.

However, the board has now secured a 3-million dollar loan from the International Cricket Council and players were guaranteed payment by next Monday.

Waller said that the team has lost quite a substantial amount of time that could have been used to work on a few areas, but they have still got six weeks, which could give them plenty of time to prepare for the World Twenty20 next month.

Zimbabwe is scheduled to play its first game against Ireland on March 17, the report added.
