Hyundai Motor India has marked year 2014 as the “Year of Excellence” as the company has set record sales in 2014. With over 4.10 lakh units sold, 2014 has become Hyundai India’s most successful year in the country and the company also marked its highest market share with 21.6% in its 16 year history in India. Hyundai’s recent product launches like the Grand i10, Xcent, Santa Fe and the Elite i20, which recently won the 2014 Indian Car of the Year attributed to its strong performance in 2014.
Commenting on Hyundai’s successful 2014 year, Mr. BS Seo- MD & CEO, HMIL said, “2014 has been an excellent year for Hyundai Motor India and it demonstrates the continued confidence that our customers have in Hyundai and our trendsetter products. Hyundai has become the favourite brand of over 3.5 million happy families in the country and exports to over 100 countries from the state-of-art Indian manufacturing facility in Chennai. Hyundai has been the largest passenger car exported since 2004 and has a market leadership share of 40%. 2014 also marks 16 years of its association with Shah Rukh Khan, who the company announced as the brand ambassador for Xcent. Hyundai India also recently celebrated the landmark of crossing five million fans on its official Facebook page, which was launched in year 2011.
