Powered by 1.2L 125 hp turbo petrol engine - will go on sale in Europe by early 2016, Renault might launch it in India
Dacia, Renault’s fully owned subsidiary, has showcased subtly updated Duster at the on-going 85th Geneva Motor Show. Highlight of it is the introduction of Renault's 1.2L Tce turbo petrol engine in the Duster. Dacia will launch it in Europe by 2016 and it is expect that Renault India will introduce this engine in the Duster lineup in India considering the fact that the Ford EcoSport EcoBoost is highly popular and faces tough competition from the upcoming compact SUVs this year.
Let’s start with the engine first Dacia Duster 125 Tce's 1,198cc all aluminium-block develops, as the name indicates, 125 horses, the torque stands tall at 205 Nm and is available in-between the engine speed - 2,000 rpm to 3,000 rpm. Mated to six-speed manual transmission in a 4WD setup. Dacia promises that ninety per cent of maximum torque is available from just 1,500rpm!
Dacia also says that there will be a considerable improvement in terms of overall efficiency and performance of the Duster. Though the efficiency figures were not out by the company yet, will be available at the time of the launch. But the automaker says that this version incorporates fuel saving techs like - engine stop & start, brake energy regeneration and reduced overall friction of the vehicle. Stay tuned!
