Who annoyed the chubby little Micra, Nissan says this concept is a glimpse of how future compact hatchbacks will look like and holy hell it looks devilish!

The Japanese automaker has showcased a striking new hatchback concept - Sway at the on-going 85th Geneva Motor Show. The company has teased the new concept couple of times before, ahead of the show.  And if people at Nissan are to be believed, the Sway concept will be an inspiration for the future hatchbacks and it adopts company's new design language. It is most likely that the next-gen Micra will be highly inspired from it.

Nissan says the new design suits European tastes and termed it as emotional, edgy and exciting. Speaking of the design, at the outset you get Nissan’s V-motion grille and the twin V-shaped quarter bumper.

The strong muscle contour pounces over the bonnet and merges with the waistline. It features a floating roofline, there’s no ‘B’ pillar and it gets suicide doors!

The rear profile features ‘kicked-up’ C-pillar and a very flamboyant boomerang shaped tail lamps along with twin quad exhausts.

"We believe that the Sway continues our tradition of challenging the status quo in market segments by bringing something fresh, distinctive and striking, much as we did with Qashqai and Juke."

"With this new concept car for Geneva, we are experimenting to see how Nissan might be able to bring fresh ideas to the compact hatchback segment," said Shiro Nakamura, Senior Vice President, Design and Chief Creative Officer, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.

Adding on the interiors, contrary to its uber cool exteriors the interiors of the Sway concept are very elegant and simple, indicating future Nissan hatch cabins. It sports a very ‘back-to-basics' three spoke steering wheel and dash mounted display.
