Audi India has launched the RS6 Avant in the presence of ace cricketer and brand ambassador Virat Kohli. Priced at INR 1.35 Crore, the performance-oriented estate version of the A6 will be brought in as CBUs, and will serve as a halo model in carmaker’s product portfolio in the country.
The RS6 Avant features a sculpted fascia with sleek Matrix headlights and daytime-running lamps. The cabin has all-black interiors with 3-spoke flat bottomed steering wheel, illuminated door sills and RS embossing to compliment the kind of performance it boasts.
Powered by the same 4.0-liter V8 TFSI bi-turbo engine used on the RS7 Sportback, which made its debut quite recently. The unit’s maximum power output is rated at 560 bhp and 700 Nm of peak torque between 1750 to 5500 rpm. The power is put to the road via an 8-speed multitronic transmission and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system. The 0 to 100 sprint is claimed in 3.9 seconds with top speed of 305kmph. The advantage of the estate body style is that there is loads of space and practicality to complement the power and performance. While the estates have been non-existent in India till date, the RS6 Avant can be the fate changer for the segment.
