German luxury carmaker Audi has displayed the Sport Quattro Concept at the ongoing Auto Expo 2014. The vehicle was first unveiled at the last year's Frankfurt Motor Show; it is basically previews the successor of the iconic Audi Quattro.
The concept is powered by a hybrid powertrain, which features a 2.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine and a disc shaped electric motor. This hybrid powertrain is mated to a 8-speed tiptronic gearbox. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 700bhp and 800Nm of torque. The Sport Quattro concept transmits this output to all its wheels. It takes just 3.7 seconds to reach 100kmph from zero and attains a top speed of 305kmph. Interestingly, the Audi Quattro concept can run up to 50km solely on electricity, while the hybrid powertrain has a fuel efficiency of 2.5-litre per 100km (40kmpl).
The Coupe concept looks stunning, with an elegant front fascia that mostly work to suck in air. The exposed LED headlights require air cooling to reduce intense heat. The Sport Quattro's rear feature the flat, upward-angles tailights. The company has used carbon fibre for the roof, the hood, and the rear hatch.
The Sport Quattro Concept measures 4.60m, 1.96m wide and 1.38m tall. It has a large wheelbase of 2.78m, which results to an increase headroom and legroom, and the Sport Quattro weights 1,850kg.
