In a bid to become the world's top selling luxury carmaker, Audi is planning to introduce several new products. The German luxury car manufacturer has set an ambitious plan of selling around 2.4 million vehicles annually by 2020. To achieve this mammoth number, it will enhance its production capacity and introduce a range of new models globally. According to media reports, Audi will develop Q6, Q8 and a new car based on the Volkswagen Up!.
It has been quite sometime that Audi is working to enhance its Q Series by introducing new products including Q6 and Q8, however, Audi's Up! is still a surprise. With this model, Audi will also make its entry in the growing all-electric premium segment. It is also speculated that this model will get an electric motor that churns out a maximum power output of around 114bhp and 270Nm of top torque. The vehicle could house a 18.7kWh battery, which enables it to run around 200km on a full charge.
The company is also planning to launch a compact Van based on A4, which could be an excellent product in the near future. The new VW Up! based all electric car is expected to arrive by the mid of this decade, it could be a game changer for Audi. Nothing has been confirmed about the specification, design and other important aspects of the vehicle.
