Automotive Engineering Show being held at the Auto Cluster Exhibition Centre at Chinchwad, Pune from 29th May 2014 to 31st May 2014 showcases some highly advanced technologies and industrial processes.
In the modern era internal combustion engine powered automobiles have held the centre-stage, and the profound effect that it has had on human societies is clearly evident. As of now, automobile industry has come to be accepted as the apex of industrial ecosystem and the state of automobile industry is considered an important indicator of the health of entire industrial economy.
Automotive Engineering Show provides a veritable window allowing a convenient peek at some highly advanced technologies and innovative industrial processes which normally remain relegated to the background but play a vital role in ensuring that the performance and reliability equation of an average mass produced automobile which we have come to expect as a matter of routine is fulfilled without much of a cost penalty.
Organized under the aegis of Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt. Ltd., one of the leaders in the field of trade shows, the 8th edition of Automotive Engineering Show not only brings some of the most advanced and relevant technology under a common roof but goes a step further as seminar sessions have also been scheduled throughout the exhibition duration. Prime focus of these seminar sessions seems to be the idea of cost minimization in automotive plants which happens to be an apt topic as automobile industry is facing severe cost challenges as well as exceedingly competitive business environment.

Although the name “Automotive Engineering Show” is suggestive of certain exclusivity with the expectation that the participants would be entirely automotive industry centric, it was a pleasant surprise to find an eclectic collection of participants – some of these having much wider application.
An extensive range of virtually indestructible computing devices aka Toughbook and its ilk were on display at the Panasonic stall. Artek Enterprises (P) Ltd displayed Plastic Welding Systems, Blow Moulding Machines, Air Pollution Control System having relevance not only in automotive industry but in several other manufacturing sectors.
Water transfer printing process showcased by Autofina which specializes in surface coating has wide application spectrum ranging from automobiles to consumer durables and lists several automobile manufacturers as well as consumer durable and home electric / electronic appliance manufacturers as its existing clients. Another significant product uniLED, from Kwality Photonics which is supposed to be the largest manufacturer of LEDs in India was on display. uniLED is a LED (Light Emitting Diode) cluster light source which has been packaged as universal replacement for existing filament bulbs in use as blinkers, tail light and brake light in automobiles. Being a LED based light source, extremely low power consumption and extremely long life (which may even exceed the vehicle’s lifespan) are the useful features.
Automotive Engineering Show is essentially designed to cater to automotive industry related entities for interacting with the companies which provide cutting edge technologies and state of the art industrial processes and this exposition not only fulfills that fundamental premise but goes beyond it. Some of the technologies on show may have applicability beyond the automotive sector and would be effective in a wide range of manufacturing industries.
