Bentley, the British luxury car maker announced that it will unveil its Hybrid Concept at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show. This fuel efficient will be based on the Mulsanne saloon and according to the manufacturer, this hybrid car will boost the on-going power output upto 25% while at the same time lower the Carbon Dioxide emission by 70%. Once charged, the car has a range of about 49 to 50kms.
The engine specs and interior features are still under the covers but as the company has mentioned an increase in power of 25%, it can easily be calculated that this hybrid car will churn power in figures of 631 bhp, as the ongoing model of Mulsanne develops a power of 505bhp, courtesy a 6.7-litre twin turbocharged V8 engine.
Revealing the concept, Bentley chief Wolfgang Schreiber said, "There is no doubt that plug-in hybrid technology is true to Bentley's values of outstanding luxury and effortless performance". He further added, "By the end of the decade, at least 90% of our production will be available as a plug-in hybrid."
