Vilner has unveiled the new Stormtrooper but unlike the normal two-legged soldiers, this new Stormtrooper has four wheels. The 7th movie of the Star Wars franchise will hit the theaters at the end of 2015, but Bulgarian studio Vilner has kindled the fire with its new BMW Stormtrooper. Based on the BMW M6 Convertible, the BMW Stormtrooper gets white colour for its exterior and brown for its interior. And unlike the thousands of Lord Vader’s soldiers, only 10 of this version will be made.
The BMW Stormtrooper gets a three layer white pearl paint, 20-inch black wheels with white stripe reminiscent of ion engines of X-Wing fighters, brown interiors with antique nappa leather and brown Alcantara. The dashboard is warped in tinted brown carbon, the same colour used for the instrument cluster while the seat belts, iDrive controller system and the back of the front seats are in sparkling white.
The decorative elements of the exterior are decided in brown mat, which covers the kidney in the pre-radiator grille, the lips under the front bumper, the doorsteps and "gills" in the front fenders. The gills are functional openings involved in the aerodynamics of the car. An additional spoiler is added below the doorstep and the Stormtrooper uses BMW emblems as side indicators.
More From This Section
The front fenders are all handmade and are single units while the front and rear bonnets, bumpers, rear fenders and all accessories for them are also different from the original version. The headlights are built-in LED lights and have a black base, with the beds of the lighting “bulbs” painted white. The rear taillights also rely on LEDs. Vilner hasn’t made any changes to the V10 engine that makes 507 hp.
Stormtrooper by Vilner is the second project of the studio of this scale, the first being the BMW Bullshark, based on E63 coupe almost a year ago. The new Stormtrooper itself is the convertible version of Bullshark, both machines following the same design idea but are very different in practice.
