Chevrolet is celebrating 60th anniversary of Corvette production by unveiling the 2014 Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The vehicle is based on the range-topping 3LT coupe, and the Premiere Edition sports a Laguna Blue Metallic exterior with a visible carbon fiber roof and a "carbon flash hood stinger stripe". It also comes equipped with Torque-style chrome wheels that have stingray badges in the centre.
The first Corvette went into production in Flint, Mich. on June 30, 1953. Since then, Corvette has been doing tremendously for the company, and continuous to offer the best in today's technology and performance. “During the past six decades, the Corvette has been woven into the fabric of American culture, as the sports car of choice for movie stars, musicians and astronauts,” said Chris Perry, vice president, Chevrolet Marketing. “The very best Corvettes represent the state-of-the-art for their eras in terms of design, technology and performance.”
The interiors of the Corvette Stingray Premium Edition comes equipped with carbon fiber trim and an individually-numbered badge. Moreover, it also sports "Stingray" branded sill plates and special floor mats. The vehicle is powered by a 6.2-litre LT1 V8 engine that is capable of developing 460bhp and 630Nm of top torque. The engine is coupled to a seven-speed manual transmission that enables the car to sprints from 0 to 100kmph in mere 3.8 seconds.

The Premiere Edition of Corvette Stingray also features the magnetic ride control and Z51 Performance package, that includes aerodynamic styling tweaks, an electronic limited-slip differential, a dry-sump oiling system and an upgraded cooling system. It will also come with an unique VIN sequence and a five-piece luggage set.
