‘Classics never die', standing firm on this claim Ford India seems to be elongating the shelf life of the Fiesta Classic despite majority of its competitors giving heavy discounts on their respective product portfolio's. The Classic that retains the old Fiesta look is now being offered at Rs 4.88 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Considering that the new Fiesta is still selling alongside the old one, customers have the choice of either selecting the old versus new by budgeting for Rs 4.88 and 7.23 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
Ford Fiesta Classic is therefore available in two engine options, a 1.6 litre petrol and a 1.4 diesel. The 1.6 litre unit is an inline 4 cylinder, 16-ValveDOHC petrol engine that produces a maximum power out of 110 PS with 146 Nm of torque. While the 1.4 diesel caters to an inline 4 cylinder , 8 Valve SOHC common rail diesel engine providing a power output of 68 PS along with 160 Nm of torque. In accordance to the retro styling, this particular model offers latest features such as an in built music system along with Bluetooth Connectivity, Programmable Keyless Entry, electrically adjustable outside mirrors, tilt adjustable power steering, front & rear power windows, rear defogger to mention a few.
Safety being a prime concern these days, Ford Fiesta Classic also caters to aspects such as ABS with EBD, driver and front passenger airbags that are only available on the top end variant of the petrol model. Other safety features on board include collapsible steering column, central locking system, a fuel cut-off inertia switch in case of an accident, PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) to name a few.
Featured with Ford's superior technology such as GEM (General Electronic Module) and PCM (Power Control module) which basically contributes to lower fuel consumption and low emissions, the petrol model returns a mileage figure of 21 kmpl followed by diesel that returns an impressive 32 kmpl as claimed by the manufacturer.
Having mentioned about the Classic, one cannot leave out the 2014 edition of the new Fiesta that is due for a facelift. Showcased during this year's Indian Auto Expo, Ford will be looking to capture the Indian sentiment especially with its latest design philosophy that gives this particular sedan a more striking appeal when it comes to the exterior. The Aston Martin inspired front grille is its biggest USP with interior design still un-known, however rest assured they would be in line with rest of its competitors within the segment.
