Honda Reveals BR-V Crossover at Auto Expo 2016

Honda has finally unveiled the Mobilio-based crossover Honda BR-V. The compact SUV will be going up against an already packed up segment in the form of Nissan Terrano, Hyundai Creta, Maruti S-Cross and Renault Duster. Although, it was the MPV Mobilio that really ignited the origin of Honda BR-V, the latter has undergone a drastic revamp aesthetically with DRLs, changed front fascia, projector headlamps and diamond cut alloys. Overall, Honda BR-V looks absolutely stunning and is at par with the likes of Creta as far as its appeal on aesthetics is concerned.

The interior is equally impressive with the presence of features like automatic climate control, rear parking camera, rear AC vents, touchscreen infotainment system, foldable third row seats, electronically controlled wing mirrors, etc.

There would be two engine options for Honda BR-V including diesel and petrol. The 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engine generates 120PS power at 6600rpm, whereas torque output stands at 145Nm at 4600rpm. Based on these stats, the petrol variant of the car would be up against Creta, while Honda BR-V holds an edge with its third foldable seat.

Then there is the diesel variant that shares the same engine used by the likes of compact sedans including Honda Amaze and Honda Jazz hatchback. The 1.5 litre i-DTEC motor pumps out 100PS power at 3600rpm along with 200Nm torque at 1750rpm. Both the engines would be mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission system which would make it easier for the driver to tackle the everyday traffic with ease and comfort.
