Hyundai’s bet in the compact SUV segment, the Creta, has made its way to the Indian market today. Launched with a starting sticker price of Rs 8.59 lac (Ex-Showroom, Delhi), the Creta lock horns with Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport, Nissan Terrano and soon to be launched Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.

From most angles, the Creta carries a strong resemblance to the far more premium and expensive elder sibling Santa Fe, which gives this newest compact SUV an edge in terms of looks over others. The triple-slat all-chrome hexagonal radiator grille, eagle-eyed headlights housing the projector and DRLs (only for the top variants) and the sharp vertical fog lamps dominates the front fascia and makes is it very impressive looking indeed. The 17-inch alloy wheels on the top-end variants, a muscular looking side profile with rugged plastic cladding and stylish taillights compliments the overall looks.

The interior bits are more or less identical to the successful Elite i20. There will be two touchscreen infotainment options dominating the centre console on the top trim levels. Apart from this, there is an  inbuilt 1GB memory space audio system, just like the other Hyundai nowadays. It also features a push-button start, a reverse camera, six airbags, and Electronic Stability Control. Creta is not a sub-4 metre offering like some of its prime competitors as Hyundai didn’t want the space to be compromised, hence, better space on the inside.
