Jaguar India has now silently upgraded its flagship luxury saloon XJ lineup by introducing a new base variant- Jaguar XJ L for the Indian buyers. The company hasn't made any official announcement, however, its official website features this model and its complete specification. The exact pricing details of the car is yet to be disclosed, but we expect it to be priced around 10-20 lakh cheaper than the previous base model.

The new base variant Jaguar XJ L is powered by a new 2.0-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol engine, which has been sourced from American auto maker Ford. The engine is capable of developing 236.7bhp at 5500rpm and 340Nm of top torque at 1750rpm. The EcoBoost engine is coupled to an eight speed automatic transmission, which transmits power to rear wheels of the saloon. The saloon accelerates to 100kmph from stand still in just 7.5 seconds, and can attain a top speed of 225kmph.

The new base model of Jaguar XJ will compete against the likes of Mercedes-Benz S Class, Audi A8, BMW 7-Series and others. This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for more updates on the same.
