The German carmaker, Volkswagen has launched the Vento sedan in the Philippines auto market. It has been named as 'Polo Notch' and is priced at 950,000 Philippine Pesos (Rs 13.2 lakhs). The company launched its third car within three months after it entered the Philippine market. The made-in-India Polo Notch will be exported from VW's Chakan plant in Pune.
Speaking at the launch, John Philip Orbeta, President, ACEI said, “Volkswagen has always been known as the People's Car, and now with the introduction of the Polo Notch, the possibilities of owning a fine German car with the latest in technological advancements become more attainable for the Filipino."
Only Highline variant of the Vento sedan is launched, which is powered by a 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine. This engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and churns out a maximum power output of 104bhp and 250Nm of top torque. The new Polo sedan comes equipped with several standard features including Anti Lock Braking System, 15-inch alloy wheels, dual-front airbags, a music system with a CD player with four speakers, USB and AUX-in support.
