Mahindra and Mahindra makes it to the top position on the the list released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) for highest selling Utility Vehicles in India for the month of October this year. Although, Scorpio was pushed from the no.3 spot to no.5 on the list with a drop of sales by 7%, the launch of automatic version has re-energized the company which will now surely expect the car to hit back and gain its prominent position back in the market. Bolero continues to be Mahindra’s stalwart and holds the no.1 spot. Despite gaining the top spot, Bolero observed a drop of sales by 15%. What grabs more attention is the car on no.2 spot (Creta) which has seen a spectacular demand in the domestic as well as international market. The South Korean car even replaced Bolero from no.1 spot for three months.

EcoSport suffered a backlash due to a recall of 16,500 units and slipped from no.5 to no.8 in October. S Cross and XUV500 although could not find a spot in top 5 for October, but with Maruti Suzuki offering heavy discounts on S Cross and XUV500 now equipped with automatic gearbox, these cars will surely make it a challenge for present market dominators to retain their position.
