Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has launched a diesel MPV, named as “Supro Van” priced at Rs 4.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane). Supro Van will follow BS-III emission standards and is mostly targeting semi-urban families.
Given an engine of 909cc that delivers a maximum power of 45.6 bhp, the automobile is pegged to be a good people-carrier vehicle too. Van can be used either in a five-seat layout or in an eight-seat layout depending on the requirement. The van is based on its new Supro platform and is expected to compete with present market dominators like Maruti Omni and Eeco.
