We reported earlier that Maruti Suzuki India will introduce the new generation A-Star (codenamed YL7) at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, which will replace the company's A-Star and Zen Estilo models. Moreover, the new generation A-Star is said to be named as the 'Celerio' in few markets including India. Suzuki recently unveiled the A-Wind Concept at the Thailand International Motor Show, and the production version of this model is the same which will make its world debut at the 2014 Auto Show.

The name 'Celerio' has already been used by the Suzuki as a suffix with the Alto badge in few international auto markets. If media reports to be believed, Maruti might launch this small hatchback at the Motor Show in February, with deliveries to be made after the event. The new hatchback measures 3600mm x 1600mm x 1540mm (length x width x height) and has got a 2425mm of wheelbase. Suzuki Celerio will share most of its design cues from the A-Wind Concept and it will be more taller, spacious and sportier than its predecessor.

Under the hood, the new Suzuki Celerio will be powered by the current 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder K-Series petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 67bhp and 90Nm of top torque. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. It will also come in manual transmission (five-speed). The engine could be tuned to offer more fuel efficiency and better performance.
