Maruti Suzuki India limited in the month of January 2015, retailed a total of 1,16,606 units (domestic+exports) compared to 1,02,416 units in the same month last year. The total export count for Jan 2015 was 11,047 units along with the 1,05,559 units sold in the domestic market. With the increase in sales number, the automaker witnessed a growth of 13.9 percent year-on-year basis.
In the small car segment which consists of Alto and WagonR, the automaker retailed 35,750 units while in the compact segment that comprises of Swift, Ritz, Celerio, Dzire, the manufacturer sold 45,881 units. The recently launched mid size sedan Ciaz contributed to 6,005 units while the Gypsy, Grand Vitara, Ertiga chipped in with 6,432 units.
In the month of January, the automaker also launched the limited edition Swift Windsong VXI at Rs 5,14,973 and Swift Windsong VDI at Rs 6,10,246 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The limited edition of Swift is only made available in two trims-VXI and VDI.
Moreover, in order to further expand its Ciaz’s variant lineup, the automaker introduced the top-end Z+ trims. The top of the line petrol variant ZXI+ is priced at Rs. 9.81 lac while the diesel top model ZDI+ is priced at Rs. 10.37 Lac (All Ex-Showroom Prices, New Delhi). The Z+ trims carries forward the goodies from the Z trims and adds a large touch screen SmartPlay infotainment system with voice commands and navigation along with leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel and 16-inch alloy wheels.
