Maserati has announced that they will be displaying their 2+2 seater Alfieri concept at the upcoming 2015 Dubai Motor Show, from November 10th-14th. The concept made its debut at the last year’s Geneva Auto Expo and is said to go on sale next year. Apart from the Alfieri, Maserati will also debut a vehicle specific to that region, further details will emerge around the Motor Show.
The Alfieri concept bears the name of the most prominent of the Maserati brothers - Alfieri Maserati, the one who founded “Officine Alfieri Maserati” in Bologna over a century ago. According to Lorenzo Ramaciotti, the mastermind behind the project, “The Alfieri is a transition point between 100 glorious years of history and the future that is opening up before us.”
The Alfieri concept is a sleek, Italian style 2+2 seater grand tourer. The concept vehicle takes inspiration from one of the most fascinating cars of all time, the Maserati A6 GCS-53 designed by Pininfarina in 1954. The Alfieri’s designers have developed a streamlined, uncluttered form. It is characterized by a long, low nose, the characteristic grille and aggressive headlights as well as the signature triple air ducts on the wheel arches and the Saetta badge on the rear pillar. In the 2+2 seat cabin, the design team created a study in simplicity and minimalism.
Couple of months ago, Maserati re-entered into Indian market with three dealerships - Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. Maserati left India when its partnership with Shreyans Group was terminated in 2013. Currently the company retails Quattroporte, Ghibli along with GranTurismo and GranCabrio.
