Mercedes Benz India will launch the diesel version of the C Class - C220 CDI tomorrow. The petrol counterpart - C200 is already on sale from couple of months and was launched earlier in November, 2014. Moreover, like its petrol guise the diesel version will also be imported as CBU initially, following local assembly later. And since it is coming as CBU, it is likely to be offered as a sole variant and is expected to be priced a lac more (approximately Rs. 41 lac) than the C200 petrol. The vehicle will compete with Audi A4, BMW 3 series and Volvo S60 in its class.
Speaking of the new 2015 C Class, the ‘C’ adopts Mercedes new design language which debuted with the S Class earlier. The curviness of the new ‘C’ makes it flamboyant and there’s no doubt that this is often touted as the ‘Baby S’. Talking about the features, the ‘Baby S’ offers full-LED headlamps with daytime-running-lights and LED tail lamps. On the inside, the 2015 C Class 220 CDI offers a new dashboard design with a 8.4-inch touch-screen having MB’s COMAND infotainment system featuring a new touch pad, along with the regular scroller.
The 2015 Mercedes Benz C220 CDI features a 2143 cc turbocharged diesel. This 2.1-liter diesel motor generates 170bhp max power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The power is transmitted to rear wheels via a 7-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
