At the 1955 "Mille Miglia", one of the world's most challenging long-distance races, Mercedes-Benz 300 SL won in the production sports cars class. Mercedes-Benz is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the unexpected victory with a SL Special Edition "Mille Miglia 417" that comes with a distinctive note, among other things, with red exterior highlights and fine materials in the exclusively appointed interior. The SL Special Edition "Mille Miglia 417" will be available in SL 400 and SL 500 versions with a 6-cylinder 333 hp engine and an eight-cylinder 455 hp engine respectively. ESP Curve Dynamic Assist, an adaptive adjustable damping system, and in particular the optionally available unique Active Body Control ABC come as standard equipment.

The SL Special Edition Mille Miglia 417 gets red highlights on the lip on the front spoiler, and a red trim strip on the rear spoiler contrasts with the matte carbon, red brake calipers, 19-inch (front) and 20-inch (rear) black AMG Performance wheels with subtle red surrounds. Magnetite black metallic paint finish is standard while two designo night black magno and designo cashmere white magno matte paint finishes or the designo diamond white bright shiny paintwork are also available optionally.
