New Mercedes-Benz S-Class to get more features soon

Mercedes-Benz had launched the new S-Class at the start of this year, and now the company is looking at introducing more features in the existing model. It will get a touchpad and voice control features in this year itself. The company has also started bookings for the GLA and the delivery will commence around Diwali. As Mercedes-Benz is introducing more models, and features also for its flagship, Jaguar has reduced the pricing of the XJ L as the British has opted for the CKD route for its flagship model.

Volkswagen will also be soon introducing new models and variants for the existing Indian portfolio. The Polo facelift and the Vento facelift are due in a few months and the German manufacturer is gearing up to introduce the Taigun for the Indian car market.

Mercedes-Benz had launched the new S-Class at the start of this year. With this new flagship model, the Stuttgart based manufacturer has raised the bar with the new V222, and now the competition need to start working on something that is as good as this new S-Class. This doesn’t end here, the company will introduce more updates for the S-Class very soon. These updates will be more of increase in customisation and more optional features will be available with the S-Class.

VW India is likely to invest 100 million Euros approximately in excess of INR 800 crores to launch new models and to increase the percentage of localization at its Indian manufacturing facilities. India is one of the growing market when it comes to auto sector. In India, VW has five brands, namely, Skoda, Audi, Volkswagen and the super car brands like Porsche and Lamborghini. Mahesh Kodumudi, President and Managing Director at VW India commented, "At present, an investment of approximately 100 million Euros is in the decision process for new models and for further localisation of parts and components.”

Skoda Rapid diesel to come with automatic gearbox

A couple of days back we reported that Skoda is planning to launch the facelift version of Yeti in the month of July and now comes another update from the Czech manufacturer- the auto-maker is looking forward to launch the diesel variant of Rapid with the DSG automatic transmission. It is expected that the company will launch the automatic variant in October or November month. In order to enhance the fuel economy, the manufacturer will also discontinue its peppier 1.6-litre engine and will only bring 1.5-litre powertrain with five speed manual transmission.

Jaguar shows the new XE prototype with camouflage

Jaguar has released a picture of its upcoming all-new mid-size sports sedan, Jaguar XE, in the form of wrapped chassis. The picture shows us the overall shape of the Jaguar XE in its final stages of testing. Jaguar has earlier unveiled a picture of the car after announcing the name as XE at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Apart from being an all-new car in a new segment for Jaguar, the XE also brings with it many significant firsts to the company and the segment.

Audi introduces facelift of A7 Sportback

After A8, its time for A7. Audi has introduced facelifted version of Audi A7 Sportback. Globally, the car will go on sale later this summer, expect it to enter India soon after it. This is a mid-life refresh and Audi has embedded an array of exterior and a handful of interior traits. The classic long bonnet, coupe like roofline and declining C-pillar is untouched. Jaguar XJ L local assembly reduces the price tag

Jaguar has announced a new price for the locally manufactured Jaguar XJ L 3.0-litre diesel starting from INR 92.1 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai, Pre Octroi). The XJ L 3.0-litre diesel will be available in two derivatives, the Premium Luxury and Portfolio.

Tata Zest to be produced at Fiat's Ranjangaon facility

Tata's highly anticipated compact sedan and hatch duo - Zest and Bolt's launch is around the corner; both the cars have been spotted testing several times. Tata sources its complete diesel powertrain – engine and gearbox from Fiat, the 1.3 liter Fiat's Multi-Jet dubbed as Quadrajet which has been powering Manza and Vista range. The engine is manufactured at Fiat's Ranjangaon manufacturing facility which also rolls-out Tata Manza along with Fiat's Linea and Punto. The upcoming Zest will be manufactured at Ranjangaon plant and is expected to share Manza's production line.

Audi to launch 17 models globally; to invest 22 billion Euros by 2018

Audi AG is starting the second stage of model offensive this year and is going ahead with the biggest investment program in the brand’s history, approximately 22 billion Euros by 2018.
