Japanese auto maker Nissan that officially unveiled the much awaited compact SUV Terrano on August 20th in India, is now all set to launch the vehicle by September end or early October. Although the official bookings are likely to start only early next month, Nissan dealers across the country have started taking pre-orders on their own. We spoke to a few dealers in Delhi, who are taking a sum of Rs. 51,000 to get the car booked. And when we spoke to our trusted sources about the pricing, they hinted at a starting price of Rs. 8.50 lakh for the entry level variant.

When asked about the total trims the Nissan Terrano will come in, they revealed that it will come in a total 5 trims namely XE, XL, XL+, XV and XV Premium. There will only be just one petrol variant sporting the same 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol mill, while the diesel version will have two power output version of the same 1.5-litre K9K diesel mill, just like the Duster.

However, the Terrano is originally based on Renault Duster, Nissan has managed to make it look lot different and appealing. Specially the front fascia with the revised bumper, honeycomb grille, new headlamps and a big Nissan badge, help it look fascinating. In fact, it will remind you of the company's flagship SUV X-Trail. The rear too has received some sheet metal changes, and a split rear light arrangement, in which some part of the lights have been given on the bootlid.

Other than the changes mentioned above, we hope the Nissan too add or replace some features inside the cabin, which might take the vehicle's price to go up by Rs. 50,000-60,000 than the Duster. This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the same. Cheers!
