Renault Duster team aims top 10 spot in 2015 Dakar Rally

The 2015 edition of the legendary Dakar Rally will mark the third participation of the official Renault Duster team. With an objective of finishing in the Top 10, the teams has two all-new participating cars and engine from the Renault-Nissan Alliance, the event will take place from the 4th to 17th of January. The teams comprise of Emiliano Spataro and Benjamín Lozada as well as José García and Mauricio Malano. They prepared for the challenging Dakar by fighting in three rounds of the Argentinian Rally CrossCountry Championship, and took one win and three runner-up positions. Renault Sport Technologies is actively supporting the team in bringing all its expertise and latest innovations in to order to offer the two Renault Dusters the best assets to finish in the Top 10.

To achieve this goal, the Renault Duster Team has two new Renault Dusters provided with cutting-edge technologies. More advanced and powerful than ever, both the cars sport V8 engines from the Renault Nissan Alliance, and generate 380bhp. Renault Argentina is also reinforcing its logistics and its race team providing optimised technical support in Argentina, Chile and Bolivia, the countries that will be crossed for the 2015 edition.

“At Renault Sport Technologies, we like all types of challenges and the Dakar Rally is one of the biggest of our time”, declares Christophe Chapelain, Competition Technical Manager, Renault Sport Technologies. “We have attentively followed the progress of the Renault Duster Team since their debut in 2013. Our involvement in this project is logical as we will be able to bring innovative technical solutions while also demonstrating the innate off-road qualities of the Duster throughout the first two weeks of January.”
