Ssangyong Motor Company will unveil two development concepts, XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles, 2nd (press day) to 19thOctober.

XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure are powered by either a 1.6-litre petrol or 1.6-litre diesel engine that meet Euro 6 emission standards, and measure 4,195mm in length and with a 2,600mm wheelbase.  These two new concepts offer style, practicality and convenience for the smart user, and the new car will go on sale next year.

The XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure are near production ready concepts of the soon to be launched X100.  Based on the brand’s development philosophy of ‘Robust, Specialty and Premium’ and design theme of ‘Nature born - 3 Motion’, the XIV (eXciting user-Interface Vehicle) is a B-segment SUV series that has been shown at previous international motor shows over the past four years, the first time beginning at the IAA Frankfurt in 2011. We have also witnessed these concept vehicles at the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi. As Ssangyong is now a part of the Mahindra Group, it was showcased in India too.

Ssangyong was launched in India in 2012 with the Rexton W. This has been the first model that has been introduced in India from the Korean portfolio. Ssangyong has had a strong start in the Indian car market as it initially sold about 500 units a month and from January 2013, the company begun with the assembly of this SUV, to further reduce the cost. We can soon expect Ssangyong to introduce a couple of more products in the Indian car market, especially the Korando. Mahindra had earlier announced to launch this compact SUV, but had to revise its plans due to the changing market condition. Soon, we are expecting the Mahindra Scorpio facelift to be launched in India.
