Tata Motors is on the path of resurrection. When they launched the Horizonext strategy in June last year, the focus was to be on intense products, world-class manufacturing practices, rich customer purchase experience and consistent quality of service. The first product to come out of this strategy was the Tata Zest a few months back. The Zest has been doing good business since the launch and now Tata is launching the Bolt, the hatchback version to keep up the momentum. The launch will happen soon and here we take a look at the engine specifications and the features of the new Bolt.
Engine options of Tata Bolt
Tata Bolt will be available in petrol and diesel engines, the same ones that are fitted in the Zest. The petrol Bolt will be powered by a turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol engine, the first in the segment, pumping out a maximum power of 90 PS at 5000 rpm and a maximum torque of 140 Nm at 1500-4000 rpm. The diesel Bolt gets the renowned Fiat sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine putting out 75 PS of maximum power at 4000 rpm and 190 Nm of maximum torque at 1750-3000 rpm. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Tata Bolt gets an electronic power steering with a 5.1m turning radius. The car drives on 15-inch alloy wheels with 175/65 R15 tubeless tyres.
Exterior Features of Tata Bolt
On the outside, the Tata Bolt gets a new signature grille, segment first projector headlamps, new humanity line, wide air intake, new fog lamp bezels, darkened C-pillar, floating roof spoiler, rear defogger, ORVM mounted indicators and 15-inch alloy wheels.
