In a bid to add more numbers to its sales chart, Tata will launch the updated Nano with AMT tomorrow. Dealers have already started taking booking of the Nano GenX at an upfront payment of Rs 5,000. Tata Nano GenX will continue to lock horns with Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon while it will steal the crown from Alto K10 - as country’s most economical automatic vehicle.
The Nano GenX will now feature new ‘Smiling’ grille, smoked headlamps and glossy black applique with Tata logo. The rear for the first time gets an openable boot along with redesigned bumper. The boot space in the manual transmission variant is 110 litres while in AMT its 94 litres.
Inside the cabin, the hatch gets new and updated power steering wheel, audio system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX-IN support with four speakers.
Under the hood, the hatch will continue to churn power output of 38.1 bhp from rear-mounted 624cc MPFI two-cylinder petrol engine. For easy gear shift, the hatch is offered with AMT gearbox from auto part maker Magnetti Marelli. Nano GenX also gets Sport and ‘Creep’ function, which helps in easy maneuvering in city’s bumper to bumper traffic, as it starts crawling the vehicle after releasing the brakes without even using the accelerator. Apart from the AMT, Nano continues to offer the 4-speed manual transmission.
