With the festive season upon us, we have had a plethora of launches so far but the celebrations are far from over. Automakers from all over the world are geared up to unleash their offerings on Indian streets in the coming weeks. Three of the most highly anticipated cars are scheduled for launches over the next 15 days. So we have compiled a list of cars, which will hit the streets near you by the end of the month.
Abarth Punto Evo - October 19th
Fiat has lined up the next offering from its Abarth performance brand, the Abarth Punto Evo. The car will feature the same 1.4 liter T-Jet motor, which was previously seen in the Linea sedan. The power-plant has been tweaked to produce 145bhp and will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The car will feature disc brakes on all four wheels and will feature scorpion pincer alloys. Aesthetically, the car will feature Abarth badging, contrasting color schemes, racing stripes and sporty Abarth logo decals. To enhance the handling characteristics, the car will also ride on new suspension and a ride height, which has been reduced by 20mm.
Chevrolet Trailblazer - October 21st
Next up, Chevy will roll in with its premium SUV, Chevrolet Trailblazer, which is expected to rival the market dominating Toyota Fortuner. The car is longer than the Fortuner and relatively smaller in height. The SUV will be brought in via CBU route and will be powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine, which will produce 197bhp (segment highest) and will come mated to an automatic gearbox. This power-plant will be followed-up with a 2.5-litre engine, capable of producing 161bhp. The car will tread terrains in a 4X2 or two-wheel drive configuration but a four-wheel drive configuration variant is expected to follow soon.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno (October 26)

And last but definitely not the least, India’s largest automaker, Maruti is all set to launch its premium hatchback contender, the Baleno, which will rival the likes of Honda Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20. Under the hood, the car will be powered by Maruti’s 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine, which will come coupled with company’s SHVS mild-hybrid technology. A variant with 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine is also expected to make its appearance down the line, which will be capable of delivering 110bhp. The top-end model will also get premium creature comforts like a 7.0-inch touchscreen-equipped SmartPlay infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, LED daytime-running lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control, etc. Baleno will be sold via Maruti’s Nexa premium dealerships, alongside cars like S-Cross and Ciaz.
