Adhunik Metaliks drops as net loss widens in Q4

Adhunik Metaliks lost 1.88% to Rs 41.85 at 12:41 IST on BSE as the company reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 10.69 crore in Q4 June 2014, higher than net loss of Rs 9.89 crore in Q4 June 2013.

The Q4 result was announced before market hours today, 1 September 2014.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 215.01 points or 0.81% at 26,853.12.

On BSE, so far 12,000 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 47,055 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 43.25 and a low of Rs 41.50 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 19.20 on 10 September 2013. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 58.15 on 5 June 2014.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 28 August 2014, sliding 6.06% compared with Sensex's 2.49% rise. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 21.89% as against Sensex's 8.48% rise.

The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 123.50 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Adhunik Metaliks's consolidated total income from operations declined 9.12% to Rs 696.57 crore in Q4 June 2014 over Q4 June 2013.

Adhunik Metaliks's consolidated net profit fell 53.66% to Rs 40.40 crore on 15.42% decline in total income from operations to Rs 2555.69 crore in the year ended 30 June 2014 over the year ended 30 June 2013.

Adhunik Metaliks has an integrated steel plant located at Rourkela, Orissa engaged in the production of value added steel, alloy steel and stainless steel for the automobile, construction, engineering and household industries.
